When I was growing up, because of the health problems I had, I used to wake up every morning feeling a sense of guilt and shame. I knew that I had kept my mother up all night. This caused me to become extremely socially isolated and it persisted until the beginning of college. I aimlessly resented my mom for it, which worsened my feelings of guilt and shame. College is when I finally learnt how to form relationships and trust, which is something most people don't think about, and is the biggest challenge I've ever overcome in life. So start every morning feeling great- with a good bowl of breakfast! And allow yourself to be grateful. You deserve it.
