When in Vienna... I learnt today that the cuppacino is a Viennese invention with an Italian name. The Austrians were left with bags of coffee beans when the Ottomans left, but they did not know what to do with this black delicacy. They tried cooking and eating it, but this soon proved to be a terrible idea. It was only after they consulted a Turkish spy that they learnt how to prepare it. It became a popular drink, but because they left it long hours on the stove, the had to add milk to subtle the taste.
