My client Zach is a little over 2 weeks out from Muscle Mayhem where he will be competing in men's physique and is sitting in a solid spot 💪 We're running a practice peak week this week to experiment around a bit and see how he responds to some carbing up. Water intake will be around 2.5-2.75 gallons on his carb up days.
On normal days his carbs are still in the mid 200's so he 'should' be able to handle a decent amount, but without having previously worked with him before this prep it's hard to say for sure. This is why it's so important to be stage ready ahead of time; you're able to test the waters before blindly going into peak week without knowing how they will respond. If you've worked with someone before then it's not really necessary since you have a pretty good idea of how they respond to various macronutrients, but regardless getting ready ahead of time is something that every single competitor can benefit from. The stress of not having to worry about losing fat up until the very last days make it worth it alone.
