DONT LET THEM CLIPPERS HANG TOO LONG.
My views after 14 months into this profession.
Barbering. Its an art service skill business which people need and want. Barbering is a social business. And at its core it is about people mainly Men and the love for them. The camraderie spirit of being a men and celebrating men. Its all about the art of allowing men to glow.
The tools of the trade are only like what brushes are to a painter.
The barber achieves artist status only when his work is recognised and awarded by an authority or a professional body.
How we view ourselve is not how others see us... work hard and smart for the skill to reach a level of high finnese and discipline.
Like all forms of art, barbering needs a level of discliplin.. the basics apply. WORK is to: Come early. Be consistent. Be gritty. Have a successful plan. Have a back up plan. Execute the plan. No plan is the way to failure. Be humble. Be kind. Respect all customers. Love all and serve all. Read more to be interesting. Attend courses and other non related courses of interest. .
Let some hair down sometimes cos were human we make mistakes too...
Dont be afraid to put things right. Dont be afraid to own up and say "hey we gooped up" let me compensate you with.... loose a bit is to gain the future. .
As business people we live in a world of financial systems where the bottom dollar is your report card so don't let those tools hang too long for everyday its hung up you've lost 1 or many new potential walk in customers who usually were attracted to your brand but you just lost to your competitor because you were closed... So why open a barbershop?
To "Serve your customers and not your ego". ( Quoted by the bloody barber / schorem. )
