A natural wild plant. It is also called amaranth greens, Chinese spinach, malanga, xanthosoma rosem, and calalu.
1/2 cup of cooked callaloo leaves contains 6.5 mgs of fiber, over 300 mgs of calcium, over 500 mgs of potassium, over 3 mgs of iron, and some sodium. Callaloo contains 4 times the amount of calcium found in the hybrid food broccoli and 2 times the iron. It is very rich in antioxidants for the immune system, which also helps to prevent cardiovascular disease, strokes, and cancer
Can be juiced for naturally whole green chlorophyl: very healing. Use also in smoothies.
