What makes period antique French furniture so special? It is all in the details.... That is the quality of the wood selected; the skill of the carver in this case; the perfection of design and proportion; the ability to translate the preference of the client or mood of the country into the story the furniture tells ( as in this case the classic Empire symbols) and to note that all are handmade from the joints, carving, upholstery, trim and assembly from one craftsman to the other. Not a one step process by a single workroom, these pieces take time, with many " moving parts " through many hands until completion! They cost a lot when made and those pieces surviving in a good state cost more than brocante ( not period ) today. @mhmcantq #maryhelenmccoyfineantiques #vettedantiques #vettedantiqueorganizations #vettedantiquedealers #frenchempireperiod #early19thcentury #originals #mahogany #acajou #originaltapestry #setsold #bellange #stamped #allinthedetails #qualityoverquantity #sna #aadla #naadaa #cinoa #conservation #proper #restoration
