When #bipolardepression hits, it has no remorse. I tend to keep my Instagram as positive as possible, however, it's also just as important to keep it real. There are lots of ups and downs. In Bipolar 2 disorder there are less severe ups and many very deep dark twisty lows. It's as if something or someone else is controlling my body. I speak slower, my thoughts are at a halt, my energy level is so low that walking up the stairs is a difficult task, etc. To sum it up it's hard to even get out of bed. It's like being held under water. Everything is blurred, you can't hear things properly (because your mind is twisting it all to make it worse than it is), there's a sense of hopelessness and panic, it's hard to breathe, and once you come up for air, you try to do as much as you can in that time you have because you know you will be pulled back under again. Stay humble my friends. You never know what's going on in someone's mind. This someone may be a stranger or may be the love of your life. What can you do? Ask. Ask if they are ok? They will share if they want to. What shouldn't you do? Tell them what to do, what they should have done, or to just get over it. Trust me, they've already tried everything and it's not that they don't want to be well. It's that the imbalance of chemicals in their brain doesn't allow them to be.
