Day 22 #KLPtries 👉 If you believe in something, support it regardless of non support around you. It's your thoughts and convictions, so the only opinion that matters is yours. Stand up for you! (Disclaimer: This is context sensitive. There are undoubtedly instances where I would certainly not advocate this mindset. With my caption only containing a limited number of words, let's delve into the various possibilities in the comments below) 💕 Yesterday the Womens March in Washington took place, and many places around the world joined in in solidarity. Cape Town was no exception, and those of us who couldn't take to the streets supported in the accessible corridors of social media. Like anything in life, there would be those who supported yesterday's March, the hope it instilled, the fire it ignited, the overall cause being fought for, and there will be those who did not. Each to his own - - Equality, Women Empowerment, a world free of Rape Culture, all forms of Abuse (of which there are many), where young girls do not have to stay out of school because they do not have Sanitary Towels, where access to Birth Control, regular free (for those who cannot afford) HIV / STD / Cancer / other check ups and treatment, Maternity Leave, and and and, is the norm and NOT a privilege - - are worth fighting for, and if we weren't doing so, we'd be failing ourselves / generations to come, and and and!
I wrote a piece recently relating to women's rights. Not technical at all, just my thoughts on how both women and men are to champion women's rights. It's easier for those on the inside to influence and bring about change, than those picketing at the front gate.♥
