It took EVERYTHING in me to drag my ass to the gym. It is one of the hardest things to do - convincing yourself to continue to push through a challenging experience; but one you know will make you happy. I was at work telling myself, "You can just go home, you know." I was walking to the car, "When you get to the street, turn right, not left. You're sore, go home and sleep." I was driving toward the gym, not five minutes away from my destination, "You can still turn around." I was IN THE LOCKER ROOM and *still* had a tiny voice in my head trying to convince me to leave. But I didn't. I stayed. I did my workout. I'm sore still, but I'm proud of myself because that means I was active enough *to* be sore. That used to be a happy/comforting feeling, but somewhere I lost it. This week I've been struggling to find motivation to workout. I started a new job on Monday so my routine that I had before has sadly gone out the window ☹️I finish at 1pm but don't get lunch until 1.30pm now and I find that I'm getting home and eating everything in sight because I'm starving 😳 To change that I think I now need to eat more for morning tea, so I'll be trying to tweak that next week to see if it makes a difference. Coupled with the change in meal times, I have to also adjust my workout times. Previously I exercised in the morning, but now it'll have to be afternoon or after dinner as I don't think I can drag myself out of bed at 5am...😴 Consequently, this week my motivation has been lacking. I've only completed one resistance workout, one LISS session and I've also just smashed out a quick HIIT on the spin bike 🚴 It took me about 20 minutes to get on the bike though after I took the first photo, BUT, I did it eventually and felt a LOT better afterwards (see second photo 😀). Changes to routines can be hard and frustrating, but they're not an excuse to give up. I'm sure I'll figure it all out as time goes on, it's just a matter of being flexible and giving myself some slack if things don't always go to plan. Because sometimes they don't.
