I can clearly remember a few years ago when Deanna Paolantonio reached out to me for her research on dancers and fitness - a topic that is embedded within every ounce of my being. Needless to say, recently finding out that her work appeared in last January's Dance Current, and that I had been featured on their social media, got me tongue tied and teary eyed! .
Although I've been in, or written for industry magazines in some capacity or another for awhile now, this particular one means a lot to me. Having started ballet at 3 and continuing it into my late teens, dance was a huge part of my early life. Scratch that. It was my life. As I got older, my short and stocky body struggled to find acceptance within the competitive world, however even these dance experiences I wouldn't change, because they allowed me to find fitness. Dance made me the person who I am today - a #strongswan , and that's something that I am eternally grateful for.
Congrats @dea_bug, sorry I'm so late to say it! Now to find me an issue!
