🚨Warning: Cliche' post-CrossFit Open post🚨 Now that the open is over, I literally took all day yesterday to reflect on the last year - my first year actually training for the open. Most training sessions I never felt truly satisfied with where I was at. Always wanting more, bigger PRs, better times, etc. Even after a great training session the word "but..." would always makes its way into conversations with my coach because I always thought I should be better than where I was at. Never taking into consideration that I've only been doing CrossFit for under two years and only truly training for around 10 months. I have learned so much about training properly, programming, and myself as an athlete. . In the 2016 CrossFit Open I placed 501 in the North Central region. My goal this year was top 250, and I was able to exceed that goal by over 100 spots. I can actually say for what seems the first time in the last year that I'm proud of what I've done through training and the 2017 CrossFit Open. . All the bad days, failed lifts, slow times, sweat, sore muscles, achy joints, ripped & bloody hands, and tears were worth it. I do this for me and nobody else.
